My Wife's 2005 Yamaha Kodiak 450

After I got the Grizzly, with the intention of letting my wife use it when she wanted to and
also having her ride with me on the back, I realized that this was not practical.  I could not
ride comfortably with her on the back and we would get into spats over who was going to
drive.  The logical solution was to kill two birds with one stone... she needed her own ATV,
and Christmas was coming up shortly.  So I ran up to the dealership and picked her up
this Kodiak 450.  The Kodiak is a perfect size for her, and still has plenty of power.  The
2005 models are better than the previous years because they have an independent rear
suspension just like the Grizzly.  Previous years had a solid rear axle.  This model also
has the digital computer like the Grizzly, and you can change from 2WD to 4WD with just
the push of a button, and then engage the locker with another button.  Basically, this is
exactly like my Grizzly but it's a little smaller and it's red.  We have the same winches,
wheels, and tires.  Chelsea and I really enjoy loading up the four wheelers and just
checking places out, or simply riding around and being outside together.

The winch is a Warn 2500 lb. model and has the controller mounted on the handlebar.
The wheels are ITP C-Series wheels and the tires are 27 inch ITP Mud Lites.  These
tires are great for the type of terrain we frequent, plus they don't weigh as much as
other mud tires, and that plays a big role in not reducing available power, as well as
helping refrain from snapping CV shafts.
